The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance locating a mother and son.
It is alleged that:
- in January 2013, Chieko Teton, then-35, travelled to her home country of Japan, with her husband and then-22-month-old son, Takaya Teton
- on Friday, January 18, 2013, she abducted her son from a hotel room in Yokohama
Attempts to locate the mother and son in Japan were unsuccessful.
Upon the father's return to Canada the investigation continued with the Toronto Police Service.
A warrant has been granted by the Attorney General.
Chieko Teton, aka Chieko Sone, 36, of Toronto, is wanted for:
1) Parental Abduction
She is described as 5'5", 128 lbs., with brown eyes and straight black hair.
